Denon AVR-S660H occupies a junior position in the branded line of AV receivers with the “S” index. This model supports 8K/60 Hz resolution and has five high-current amplifiers equipped with discrete elements that can handle even low-impedance speaker systems. The stated maximum power is 135 W per channel (6 ohms). The model works with most of the current modern surround sound formats, including Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The Audyssey MultEQ system, supplemented with Dynamic EQ (frequency response optimization) and Dynamic Volume (volume optimization) technologies, calibrates the speakers connected to the AV receiver.

The Denon AVR-S660H receiver can be used as a streamer with access to playing audio content stored on local network media (computers/NAS servers) or on external drives connected via a USB port integrated into the front of the case. It supports playback of Hi-Res audio files in WAV, ALAC, FLAC (up to 24 bit/192 kHz) and DSD up to 5.6 MHz formats. Various online services are also available, including Tidal, TuneIn, Deezer, Spotify Connect, etc.

The Denon AVR-S660H has Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi on board, which improves reception quality. The new AirPlay 2 protocol is supported, with which it is possible to build a wireless multiroom system based on iOS devices. The receiver is capable of working as part of the proprietary HEOS wireless ecosystem, which allows you to control all of its devices through one application, to which you can stream audio from tablets and smartphones, local networks and streaming services. When organizing a multi-room installation based on HEOS components, the same track can be played synchronously in different rooms or different music can be transmitted to selected rooms.

The Denon AVR-S660H features five HDMI inputs supporting the latest HDCP 2.3, 8K video, as well as HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision video standards. The only HDMI output allows you to work with eARC – an extended return channel, which ensures the transmission of multi-channel audio in Dolby True HD formats and others from the TV panel directly to the receiver. The model has an MM phono stage for connecting vinyl players, and five pairs of color-coded screw terminals are used to connect speakers.
