T+A launches MP 2000 R G3 and MP 2500 R G3 digital music players

T+A has introduced two new digital multi-source players as part of its R Series lineup. Named the MP 2000 R G3 and MP 2500 R G3, these latest models offer a significant upgrade in streaming capabilities compared to their predecessors, the MP 2000 R MK II and MP 2500 R. This enhancement, known as the Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA) G3, is also compatible with earlier versions.

Germany’s Theorie und Anwendung (T+A) has introduced an innovative streaming architecture known as Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA) G3. This integration of hardware and software forms the core of the new MP 2000 R G3 and MP 25000 R G3 models. This enhancement ensures that the R Series players are equipped for the future, offering cutting-edge streaming services while preserving the esteemed sound quality that T+A is known for, as stated by the manufacturer.

“When the core of a product is newly developed, is it an upgrade or a new product? We believe that the ASA G3 together with the many other small improvements make the MP 2000 R G3 and MP 2500 R G3 so much better that they represent a new generation of the R-series,” T+A said in a statement about the new devices.

The ASA G3, the heart and technical highlight of the new R Series multi-source players, offers users access to a wide range of high-quality and convenient Connect services. These services enable direct music streaming from mobile devices to the T+A players via services such as Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect or Apple AirPlay 2. The ASA G3 also integrates many high-resolution streaming services and enables native DSD streaming directly and without conversion via the streaming client.

In addition to the advanced streaming architecture, developers at T+A’s Herford plant have significantly improved signal processing by introducing a new motherboard. The signals from the CD drive (MP 2000 R G3) and SACD drive (MP 2500 R G3) are now used to provide enriched information such as cover art in the Musicnavigator G3 app via the Gracenote music service. These multi-source players are equipped with T+A’s separate and fully optimized True1-Bit DSD and Quadruple PCM DA conversion for an even better sound experience, as well as a powerful radio tuner that delivers the best FM and DAB reception ever achieved by a T+A device.

Upgrade to ASA G3 is also accessible for previous device models

T+A also offers an upgrade option to ASA G3 for the predecessors MP 2000 R MK II and MP 2500 R. This upgrade includes not only new hardware components for the streaming architecture, but also device-specific operating software tailored to each model. Upgrade arrangements can be made through authorized dealers or directly through local T+A representatives. After installing the upgrade, the owner will have a new and updated device without having to purchase a completely new device.

The R-Series multi-source players are available in anodized silver and anodized black. Pricing information has yet to be announced.
