The AK4497 is a voltage type DAC and not a current type DAC like the AK4499 and therefore does not require additional I/V conversion. It is more suitable for portable DACs. With the right design, we can optimize its full potential. In terms of actual performance, the DAC using the AK4497 outperforms the AK4499 based DAC in every aspect.
