Cayin launched the integrated tube amplifier with separate power supply Pearl 30i at the beginning of this year. The Pearl 30i is joined by CD drive Pearl 30c and DA converter Pearl 30d, each of which also has a separate power supply and aesthetically fits perfectly with the Pearl 30i.
Cayin Pearl anniversary series 30i, 30d and 30c
On the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, Cayin introduced the Pearl series. The first member was the Pearl 30i integrated tube amplifier . As a fitting companion, Cayin has presented DA converter Pearl 30d DAC and CD drive Pearl 30c.
Like the Pearl 30i, the DAC Pearl 30d and the CD drive Pearl 30c each have two separate housings to separate the power supply from the main unit. This aims to improve performance and reduce any interference between the complex power supplies and the sensitive audio circuits.
Cayin Pearl 30c: CD drive with “jitter cleaner”
Cayin’s Pearl 30c CD drive is equipped with the Philips VAU1255/31LF CD-PRO2 drive, a top-loading drive. The designers have incorporated a synchronized clock source with, according to the manufacturer, very low phase noise that is intended to minimize jitter. The device also uses a BNC coaxial cable for reference clock transmission, which is intended to optimize signal integrity and clock quality. In addition, the Cayin Pearl 30c offers an upsampling function and separate power supplies in a separate housing to further isolate the electrical components; This should result in unadulterated audio reproduction.
Cayin Pearl 30d: DA converter with two decoder circuits
The Pearl 30d has two different decoding systems, which can be optionally enabled and adjusted depending on the audio signal format. One circuit features a TDA1307 and two TDA1547 chips for a bit of a retro sound signature. The second circuit consists of four ESS9039SPROs for the highest resolution signal conversion. The second circuit supports high-resolution PCM and DSD decoding up to 768 kHz and DSD512 respectively.
Both devices offer a wide range of connectivity options, including multiple digital and analog outputs and the ability to integrate external clocks for synchronization with other digital devices, which should improve the audio quality of the overall system.
