The new Hidizs S8 Pro Robin is a portable balanced DAC and headphone amplifier based on two Cirrus Logic CS43131 chips, rated at 160mW + 160mW at 32 ohms. The device supports sample rates up to PCM 32-bit 384 kHz and DSD256, and has balanced and unbalanced outputs for a variety of applications.

Dual DAC Architecture

The Hidizs S8 Pro Robin features a symmetrical dual 32-bit DAC architecture powered by two CS43131 chips from Cirrus Logic. The unbalanced output provides up to 80mW+80mW@32Ω, and the balanced output provides up to 160mW+160mW@32Ω. The CS43131 oversampling module uses technology to eliminate distortion caused by component desynchronization. Five digital filters with pseudo-linear phase and ultra-low latency minimize pre-echo and audio artifacts. Cirrus Popguard technology eliminates unwanted noise when turning the device on and off.

Balanced and unbalanced outputs

Hidizs S8 Pro Robin offers two outputs: unbalanced 3.5mm and balanced 4.4mm jacks. This dual output system not only makes full use of the DAC’s balanced architecture, but also allows it to adapt to any use case.

Low noise and distortion

The Hidizs S8 Pro Robin stands out for its very low noise and distortion levels. The balanced output has only 0.0006% harmonic distortion, 128 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 110 dB crosstalk. Unbalanced output – 0.0005% harmonic distortion, 125 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 74 dB crosstalk.

Flexibility in Use

The S8 Pro Robin features a USB-C input for excellent compatibility with a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, iPad OS, Android, iOS and Harmony OS. Six powerful filters allow the S8 Pro Robin to adapt to any situation: wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, active/passive speakers or Bluetooth speakers – this device will provide the best sound in any situation.
